Monday Morning Quarterback by Dennis R. Buckley, DC

The term Monday Morning Quarterback (MMQ) comes from football. On Monday after all the games are finished, many proverbial sportsman will talk about what THEY would have done in the situations that played out during the games. Of course they have 20/20 hindsight as to the outcomes of the actions taken by the teams.

The problem with this is that at the time the decisions needed to be made, they were made with the best information present at the time trying to achieve a desired result. Sometimes what is desired and what happens can be quite different. Monday Morning Quarterback (MMQ) steps up and says, after it is over, "What I would of done was . . . .."

So the term MMQ is for the most part viewed as a negative, however MMQ can be a positive for us in regards to our health and well being if we apply it correctly.

If we make certain choices in regards to lifestyle and activities, we will produce a result. If the result we want is obtained we can be a MMQ and look at the choices and make sure they continue. If not we can look back and learn what choices we made that led to the undesired results.

The key to being a good MMQ is to learn. If we keep making the same choices and we keep getting the same results and we do not like the results, we need to change.

Most of the problems in regards to health are a result of bad personal choices. It is estimated that 70 percent of the problems people go to doctors for, they brought on themselves, by poor choices of lifestyle. So if you really want to change your outcomes, you really need to change your choices or even better change your beliefs about what is and isn't healthy.
