Your immune system keeps you alive. That is a very good reason to take care of it. It works 24 hours a day to protect your body from the invaders that look for opportunities to take up residence in your body.
Bacteria and viruses are constantly looking for opportunities to multiply and take over. You immune system keeps these in check. The stronger your immune system is the better your body is able to fight infection and return your body back to health.
Your immune system needs to be strong and you can help keep it strong it in the following ways.
* Proper rest. While you sleep your body is in a repair mode and is able to expend energy in this manner and heal your body * Proper Nutrition. You need to fuel the body so it has energy to maintain the internal balance and if it has to spend excess energy processing bad foods or too much food then the body's resources are stretched to thin. * Exercise. One of the best ways to strengthen your immune system is to be in top physical shape. Excess stress weakens the immune system and exercise reduces stress and builds the body's cardiovascular health.
Eat well, exercise well and get proper rest, are three of the easiest things to do to protect your immune system. Others things you can do include drinking plenty of water, use of supplements especially antioxidants, limit alcohol intake, do not smoke, have a positive attitude, get regular check-ups with your doctor and improve your environment.
If you do get sick, rest and take care of your self. You will get better faster and your immune system will be stronger.
This advice may sound similar to how to stay healthy. Well, keeping your immune system healthy is the first step to be and stay healthy.
